Labour ComplianceThe Labour Department, Govt. of Rajasthan, on August 12, 2026, issued the Rajasthan Industrial Relations Rules, 2026.

They shall come into force on August 12, 2026.

The following has been stated:

• The Rules provide the procedural framework for implementing the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 in Rajasthan and apply to industrial establishments and matters for which the State Government is the appropriate Government. The Rules prescribe procedures for the settlement of industrial disputes, the registration and administration of Trade Unions, the recognition of negotiating unions/councils, grievance redressal, collective bargaining, conciliation and arbitration, strikes and lock-outs, lay-off, retrenchment, and closure. 

• They provide for electronic filing and maintenance of records and prescribe forms and timelines for various proceedings. The Rules also establish procedures for constitution and functioning of Grievance Redressal Committees and provide mechanisms for workers to approach Conciliation Officers where grievances remain unresolved. For establishments covered by Chapter X of the Code, prescribed applications and notices are required for lay-off, retrenchment and closure, with timelines of 15 days for lay-off, 60 days for retrenchment and 90 days for closure in the relevant permission process. 

• Overall, the Rules operationalise the Industrial Relations Code in Rajasthan by laying down detailed compliance and dispute-resolution procedures for employers, workers, Trade Unions and industrial establishments.
